Workshop at Thingscon
ThingsCon is Europe’s leading conference about the future of hardware, connected devices and Internet of Things (IoT). Started in Berlin it is growing into a global community of like-minded practitioners around Internet of Things and new hardware. ThingsCon fosters the creation of a human-centric & responsible IoT. To this end it provides practitioners with an open environment for reflection & collaborative action.
I was invited to host an Ethics for Designers workshop on the first day (30/11/2017) of the conference. Around 25 people signed up for the workshop. With the newly printed Moral Agent cards teams worked on IoT briefs. It was great to see how everyone was immersed in the game. Different strategies were tried out and people had fun playing the game. The workshop also provided valuable feedback on the game mechanics.
